My past was sadness and hardship. Growing up, I never really had a stable home life. My mother and father were constantly quarreling, and eventually, they divorced when I was just a adolescent. I was compelled to bounce around between different kinfolk’s houses, never really feeling like I fit in.

Despite all challenges I faced, I always found comfort in video games. They provided me with an means of escape from the mayhem of my real life and allowed me to lose myself in fantasy worlds. I spent many hours playing games, improving my skills as time went on.

And then, one particular day, something revolutionized my life indefinitely. I was engaging in a game online with some friends when I was suddenly lost connection from the server. At first, I believed it was just a glitch, but as it turned out, my internet service had been terminated due to an outstanding bill that my parents had neglected to pay.

I was crushed. How to manage to play my favorite games without any access to internet? But, rather than wallow in in self-pity, I resolved to take matters into my own hands. I initiated saving up my allowance and doing odd jobs for neighbors in order to pay for my own internet service. It was not an easy, but eventually, I was able to get back online and resume playing the games that I loved.
